Engaging the Community

Goal

To bring together Islamic values and financial contributions to drive personal and community development to create a good society.

Activities

Community gatherings are key to socialisation, development planning,  religious and moral teaching, and community bonding.

Community Engagement

Family gatherings

We arrange events to facilitate families to socialise and improve social relationships and children’s wellbeing.

O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones …

Community Engagement

Children’s gatherings

Social gatherings are important for children to understand the diversity of languages and cultures.

And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge.

Community Engagement

Greeting newcomers

Social events help us to connect with new students and families in the city who become a part of the larger Bangladeshi family.

The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.

Community Engagement

Food, first-aid for Sportsmen

We support all beneficial community events with our resources as much as possible.

And whatever good you do – Allah knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah. And fear Me, O you of understanding.

Al Baqarah 197

Community Engagement

Iftar for Students

On every Ramadan, we organise a little something for Iftar for the Bangladeshi student community in Hamburg.

Whoever provides the food for a fasting person to break his fast with, then for him is the same reward as his (the fasting person’s), without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person

Community Engagement

Praying in Jamaah

Bringing together families and community members for prayer in congregations is an effort to facilitate an obligatory ibadaah.

And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience].

Al Baqarah 43

Community Engagement

Muslim circles

We connect with Muslim brothers across cities to get introduced and collaborate in social work based on our Islamic values.

And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.

Community Engagement

Naseeha sessions

We refresh our knowledge through mutually sharing of Islamic teachings for self-development.

And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.

Learning about Islam

We arrange lectures on religious essentials to benefit the community.

… Who listen to speech and follow the best of it. Those are the ones Allah has guided, and those are people of understanding.

Community Engagement

Inviting people to Prayer

We strive to encourage our families to perform their Islamic obligations as much as possible.

And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness.

Qur’an Lessons

We arrange Qur’an recitation lessons for grown-up people and children via online session.

… and recite the Qur’an with measured recitation.

Impact

Community relationships and family contacts are beneficial for mental wellbeing and socialisation within the community.

Social gatherings help to stay connected as a community aboard, spread our efforts, and allow participation in charitable work inspired by Islamic values.

Islamic teachings and reminders are essential for personal improvements and encourage community work.

The community helps with zakah and sadaqah contributions, for people who need them most in Bangladesh – our home country.

Our approach is to maximise social gains through distributing contributions in disadvantaged areas (e.g. coastal areas) or among disadvantaged communities (e.g. elderly or small entrepreneurs) or during difficult times (e.g. winter or flood).
